The Sum of All Parts

“You will always be too much of something for someone. Too big, too small, too loud, too soft, too edgy. If you round out your edges, you lose your edge. Apologise for mistakes. Apologise for unintentionally hurting someone – profusely. But NEVER apologise for being who you are.” – Unknown

I’ve messed up my blogging schedule.

Not sticking to what I planned has been really disheartening. After berating myself and wallowing a little (mostly because I allowed other things to weigh me down), I’ve dusted myself off and here I am… blogging on one of my designated days (Monday’s and Thursdays in case you don’t know).

One of my friends posted the quote above on Instagram today. It made me think of a poem I wrote a little while ago that I preformed last month when I featured at BoxedIN – a London based open mic night (if you’ve never been, I’d highly recommend that you go).

The poem is called The Sum of All Parts. You can watch on YouTube here.

At a later date I’ll expand on this topic a little more and why it’s something close to my heart but for today, the quote and the video are enough. I hope you enjoy it.
